I've been going through my magazines and books looking for inspiration for my new piece. So far I've got all kinds of ideas for a new cape/shawl piece -- very lacy and made from this really beautiful merino wool which I have in several colors. I am considering orange and purple or maybe orange and green. I would like it to be very light and airy, almost like a shawl designed in Ireland.

But for my vessel, I really like the colors of blue and black with white and a bit of orange thrown into the mix. Orange is on the opposite side of the color wheel from blue and black and white are so basic. I also like to mix in curly locks. I think that I will let the white be the curly locks which will add texture as well as a "color".

I want to try to make a tall vase/vessel. Maybe 14 or 15 inches and around 6 inches wide and maybe 8 to 10 inches wide at the top edge. Something that holds a glass vase so that one could put cut flowers in it if one wished.
